How Mississippi Business Alliance (MSBA) collects, uses, and safeguards information.
Effective date: January 6, 2026
Mississippi Business Alliance ("MSBA," "we," "us," or "our") is a membership organization. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect information when you visit our website, engage with our programs, apply for membership, or use our member portal.
Information we collect
We collect information in a few ways:
- Information you provide: For example, when you contact us, request information, register interest in a program, subscribe to updates, attend events, or apply for membership, you may provide details such as your name, email address, phone number, company/organization, job title, mailing address, and any message or notes you submit.
- Member portal information: When you sign in to the member portal, we receive authentication and identity information from our identity/membership platform (Atlas / WebLinkConnect), such as your name, email address, and identifiers associated with your membership profile.
- Automatic data: Like most websites, we may collect basic technical information such as IP address, browser type, device identifiers, pages viewed, and the date/time of requests. This information is typically collected through server logs and similar technologies.
How we use information
We use information for purposes such as:
- Providing services and member benefits: operating the website, administering programs and events, processing membership-related requests, and providing member portal access.
- Communicating with you: responding to inquiries, sending notices, updates, and information you request.
- Improving and securing our services: troubleshooting, testing, analytics that help us understand usage patterns, and protecting against fraud, abuse, and unauthorized access.
- Compliance and legitimate organizational needs: maintaining records, enforcing our Terms, and meeting legal or regulatory obligations.
Cookies and similar technologies
We use cookies and similar technologies that are necessary to operate the site and member portal. For example, our member portal uses authentication cookies to maintain your signed-in session. These cookies are used for security and functionality—not for advertising.
You can control cookies through your browser settings. If you disable certain cookies, some features (including sign-in) may not work properly.
How we share information
We do not sell your personal information and we do not share your information with advertisers for targeted advertising.
We may share information in limited circumstances, including:
- Service providers: vendors who help us operate the website, support member authentication, provide IT/hosting, or perform other services on our behalf. They are permitted to use information only as needed to provide services to us.
- Legal and safety: if required by law or if we believe disclosure is necessary to protect the rights, safety, and security of MSBA, our members, or the public.
- Organizational changes: if we are involved in a merger, reorganization, or transfer of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to appropriate protections.
Data retention
We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, including for membership administration, recordkeeping, dispute resolution, security, and legal compliance.

We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
